News Post Metaboxes

The news post meta box is a draggable box shown on the news editing screen in the right-side column. Its purpose is to allow the user to select or enter information in addition to the main news post content. This information should be related to the post in some way. The following are short descriptions of each metabox displayed on the default News Screen. Please note your news post metaboxes may be different depending on your roll or in different order.

Publish Metabox: After editing your News Post you will need to either Publish or Update the post to save it. You can find both of those options here. You can also delete the News Post entirely by selecting Move to Trash. A few other options this box includes: Status: (Publish, Pending Review, or Draft), Visibility (Public, Private, Password Protected), Revisions, Published Date and the option to change or set the publishing date.

Categories Metabox: When editing a News Post, you can add it to a category by checking the box next to the category name. By default the news post will have a  ‘Uncategorized’ label. See More about Post Categories
